November #MakingMoves Fitness Challenge – Day 3

Day 3! Side Plank with Lift!

Side Plank with Lift (and curve): Start in side plank position, by lifting your hips off the floor and stacking your feet. Make sure your elbow aligned with your shoulder. After a few seconds, lift your hips straight up toward the ceiling as high as you can and bring your arm above your head, reaching as far as you can. Hold for about 2 seconds and return to start position. (Don’t let your hips touch the floor! Stay in side plank position!)

This move is a great strength exercise for your core.

November #MakingMoves Fitness Challenge!

Another monthly challenge!? Yup! This one is going to be really simple and fun (but of course a challenge). Every day in November, I will post a fitness move you can do with no-weight and no-equipment to. Your challenge – try it! And repeat each move 20 times. Video: Strong Legs, Strong Runner

It’s running season! Most of us have already taken to the streets, paths and pavement to achieve our running goals for the year. Whether you’re running your first 5K or your 12th marathon. I’m so excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to hit some of the races and events I’ve been planning for this year. I’ve gotten a few questions lately on building a good foundation as a runner.
