Hello fellow fitness fanatics! I’m so happy to be finally done editing and ready to post this video for you all. Yay!

I was invited down to the University of Illinois in Champaign (I’m an alumni of this very awesome university!) for a wonderful natural hair conference called “SuperNatural Tender, Love and Hair”. The conference was put on by a great student organization (SuperNatural) that is focused on bringing resources, information and fun on campus about natural hair health. I was honored when they asked me to come down and speak on the health and wellness portion of taking care of natural hair, specifically nutrition.

Nina Ellis-Hervey, myself, and the Vaughn Sisters!

I was in such great company too!  The other speakers included the fabulous natural hair vloggers and sisters, Meechy Monroe and Ms. Vaughn who presented a workshop on accessorizing natural hair, make-up and fashion, and recommended great products and styling tools to have in your collection. They were awesome! I learned so much and can’t wait to try some of the makeup tips Ms. Vaughn showed us!

And I was also so happy to be in the presence of Miss Nina Ellis-Hervey, another YouTube guru (BeautifulBrwnBabyDoll) who was the keynote speaker and also presented a workshop on transitioning and her journey through growing her natural hair. It was amazing to hear her journey and how she’s influenced so many other naturals.

And then there’s little ol’ me… sort of a nervous wreck about everything coming together, but I did it! And people enjoyed it! I had my most loyal and very helpful friend Erica (BeezHunny) video record my workshop and I decided to put together a little highlight video featuring the real heart of the workshop: the things you should and shouldn’t eat for your natural hair health. Check it out!

Hope you enjoyed the video! Be sure to leave your feedback (and love) in the comments.

I hope to do more workshops and presentations like this that not only speak to natural hair, but also to our overall health when it comes to what we eat and what goes into our bodies. I had so much fun!

Be Renewed
