Monday Motivation – Remember September?
This week’s Monday Motivation is a great song that has a little personal history with me. Not only is this an “oldie but a goodie” but it’s definitely a song that can make anyone happy and put you in a great mood. My older brother’s birthday is in September and every time I hear or play this song, it reminds me of my childhood. Celebrating his birthday and always having a good time.
Earth, Wind and Fire is one of those sensational bands that created music well beyond their musical timeframe and era. Their songs about love and life will definitely bring you back down to “earth” and have you truly contemplating the lyrics. To add to their awesomeness, they were formed in Chicago in 1969. Nothing like a hometown band with musical geniuses to make you proud of where you’re from! I had a chance to see Earth, Wind and Fire in June at the Ravinia here in Chicago, but the torrential downpour of rain and severe thunderstorms turned my mother and I away. We were sad to have to miss it, but we’ll definitely be on the look out for another live performance.
“September” by Earth, Wind and Fire is a really great song for running or perhaps a very brisk walk. It’s very upbeat and has such a positive vibe. The video posted features the original members of the band. Their outfits were sick! Enjoy!

Thanks DeeDee! I was going to post the Kirk Franklin remix, but the original is so awesome! Glad you enjoyed!
I just started working out and the other day, this song came on the ipod while i was on the elliptical. Set me right off and my workout ended better than it started. Been playing it ever since.
