The Power of “I Am”

Last night, I tuned into an episode of Oprah’s LifeClass where she had world-renowned pastor and motivational speaker Joel Osteen as her guest. They were teaching a lesson about the power of two simple words: I am. There were soooo many wonderful nuggets of wisdom and things I could take away from the hour-long show but, one thing that Joel Osteen said during the episode that really stuck with me and may have changed the very course of my life – Continue reading →

The Never-Ending Quest to Find Some Kind of Motivation

Just about any and everything we do from day to day requires a certain amount of motivation to begin. We all know this and we all seek it to get ourselves jump-started into a task. I chose this song for this week also because Raphael Saadiq was one of the acts during this year’s Lollapalooza weekend, here in Chicago. Unfortunately I missed him perform, but from what I heard, he was phenomenal! ( I wouldn’t doubt it…) Continue reading →

Monday Motivation – Remember September?

This week’s Monday Motivation is a great song that has a little personal history with me. Not only is this an “oldie but a goodie” but it’s definitely a song that can make anyone happy and put you in a great mood. My older brother’s birthday is in September and every time I hear or play this song, it reminds me of my childhood. Celebrating his birthday and always having a good time. Continue reading →
